In conjunction with Empathetic Media (and as incubated by The Magnum Foundation's Photo X Lab), we have started to create a prototype for this project, developing an immersive virtual reality space – for Trevor, the intersection and other members of his network. The viewer will meet Trevor on 123rd street, and be guided by him, his friends and family through the different scenes that constitute his daily life (apartment, street corner, police precinct, recording studio among others), via 360 video, 3d scans of environments and characters, audio interviews, archival video, overset with images by Gordon Parks and recent photography. There is also an augmented reality experience that will serve as an introduction to the project via Empathetic Media's ARC app.
This process is ongoing.
